TAKE BACK the W E B
a web manifesto by kepler
i hope in whatever time it's taken you to read this, you've gained some kind of insight or inspiration. i hope some part of these beliefs stick with you and encourage you to help save the web. this was a beautiful thing, made for people, not for profit.
fight back against the flood of monetization. stop creating content and start creating connections. spend less time on social media - explore more of the internet.
you can always send me an email at webmaster@zomboid.pro. i'm happy to help with html, or hear about your day, or talk about any variety of video games. you are not a mindless consumer. you are a person, and you deserve to be known.
if you feel moved by my words or compelled to reach out to me but find yourself at a dead-end for what to say, try considering these questions to answer and send your thoughts my way:
were you moved by anything written here? did any particular part stand out the most, or the least? is there any sentiment that i raised that you disagree with? is there something you wish I had talked about more, or something you were disappointed that i didn't touch on? did i strike your curiosity to seek out the indie web?
communication doesn't need to be open and close. it doesn't need to be rapid-paced, line-by-line conversations. e-mails are digital letters; even if they get sent sooner, they still have substance. when you send an e-mail, it's expected to have content - volume. something worth reading and worth responding to.
this age of social media has left us lonelier than ever - and we can only overcome it by putting in the effort to connect.
